~ WW2 1941 British Zuckerman Helmet ~

The front brim is stamped "VM4" and "41".

It still has its original label issued to Mrs Rowe of Woking.

~ Zuckerman Helmet ~

After the many variants of the Mk II helmet, the ‘Civilian Protective Helmet’ was the most common Home Front helmet of World War II. It was commonly called a ‘Zuckerman’ helmet after its designer, South African born Solly Zuckerman. The helmet was introduced in 1940 as a low cost alternative to the standard British helmet and was made of pressed mild steel. 10 million of the helmets were produced.

The helmet has its liner. They were not fitted with chinstraps.

~ Dimensions ~

The helmet measures 32cm (12.25 inches) fore to aft.

It is stamped 'M' for a medium size.
