A lovely Victorian Majolica ceramic wall pocket in the form of a fish upon a plaque.

The fish is placed with its tail to the top and its open mouth forms the pocket.

The piece is coloured in mottled blues, greens and brown overlaid with iridescent glaze.

There are two small holes to the top of the piece through which a wire can be thread in order to hang it on the wall.

The piece measures 28cm (11 inches) by 14.5cm (5 ¾ inches).

It weighs 535g

~ Condition ~

There is some crazing to the glaze and some milky spots in the glaze.

There are a couple of tiny nibbles to the fish’s mouth and tail but they don’t detract from the overall look of the piece.

Overall the piece is in very good condition commensurate with age and with no major issues.
