~ Circa 1970 Marx Battery Operated Whistling Locomotive ~
The locomotive, when powered on, has a puffing noise with a realistic whistle flashing light and "mystery action" (i.e. goes forward randomly).
It is coloured green with golden sprayed pipes etc. and red wheels.
Either side of the cab has a "Western" and driver sticker.
The base is metal but the rest of the toy is made from a hard plastic.
The toy was made in Hong Kong.
I would date is to around 1970.

The locomotive has a length of 12 inches (30.4 cm), a width of 4 inches (10.1 cm) and a height of 6 inches (15.2 cm).
The box has a width of 13 inches (33 cm), a depth of 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) and a height of 4 inches (10.1 cm).
The set weighs 810 g.
~ Condition ~
The locomotive is in excellent condition and in good working order. A small piece of plastic from the roof hinge is missing.
The box has some minor age wear/creasing but remains in mostly good order.
