This is the iconic No.36M Mk1 Mills bomb. This model was the British army's standard hand-grenade from the 1930s to 1972. It features a green band around the middle that originally indicated an Amatol filling (1915–1920s), while it later indicated a Baratol or Trotyl filling (1920s–1970s). This particular item is dated 1943.
