~ Early Dutch Naval Musketoon Dated 1729 ~

It is fully stocked in walnut with cross hatching behind the lock plate with a blank shield shaped brass escutcheon  plate. The engraved lock plate is stamped Tower 1729, suggesting it was captured by the British.

The trigger guard, butt plate and ramrod fittings are also of brass.

It comes with a replacement ramrod.

~ Condition ~

The stock has woodworm damage on the left side of the butt and 2 long cracks opposite the lock plate. The right side has a chip to the upper edge near the muzzle.  The steel work has general pitting, the brass work is decent. The ramrod is a modern replacement. The lock works well on full and half cock with a decent spring.

~ Dimensions ~

The musketoon has a total length of 80 cm (31.5 inches) with a 38 cm (15 inches) barrel.
