~ 1872 Dated Snider .577 Calibre 5 Grooved STEEL barrel Carbine Allegedly Belonging to a 2665 Sgt. E. Miller of the Royal Fusiliers ~

We acquired this snider from a descendant with some little history. The Sergeant enlisted with the Fusiliers in the 1870’s and apparently decided to keep his Snider (soldiers on garrison duty often had more leniency from the officers) which was most likely purchased out of service when they became obsolete and were replaced with the Martini Henry.

It seems that Miller served until 1909-1910.

~ Dimensions ~

The carbine is 37 inches (94 cm) long.

The set weighs 2.85Kg.

~ Condition ~

The set is in good condition for the age.
