Crowning RAF quality: a diminutive but crisp WW2 9ct gold King’s Crown sweetheart brooch.
A fine quality WW2 Royal Air Force sweetheart brooch in solid 9 carat gold, the crowned RAF monogram over a laurel-wreathed roundel flanked by outstretched feathered wings. Stamped “9ct” to the reverse; original pin and simple safety catch present.
Size: 3.2cm wide x 1.1cm tall.
Historical note: Sweetheart brooches were privately purchased tokens worn by wives and family to show service pride. Gold examples like this were jeweller-made and typically officer-grade gifts. The King’s (Tudor) Crown confirms pre-1953 manufacture.
*Condition* Very good, presenting well with crisp feather detail. Light age-related surface wear and gentle toning to the reverse; pin and catch sound and functional. No repairs noted. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
