*British, 1909, Bronze Medal Commemorating The Opening of the Lancaster Town Hall*

 1909 Edwardian period bronze medallion created by the Bromsgrove Guild (possibly by Walter Gilbert). Diameter: 44 mm.

The medallion was struck to commemorate the opening of the Lancaster Town Hall in the year 1909. The medallion (44.50mm diameter) has a raised images on both sides. The Town hall is on one side along with the words “1909 To Commemorate the opening of the Town Hall Lancaster",  "27. Dec". and The Lancaster Coat of Arms is on the reverse, "Given by Lord Aston, Robert Wilson Mayor", "Luck to Loyne".

The Lancaster town hall was designed by  E.W. Mountfield FRIBA. He was also responsible for the town hall in Sheffield and London's central criminal court - The Old Bailey.
