* British 1877 Dated Enfield Lever-Action Martini Henry Mark II Rifle .455/577 Cal *

This is a great example of a British Imperial Zulu War period 1877 dated Martini Henry Mark 2 Rifle in 455/577 calibre.

The lock plate is stamped with VR beneath the crown, Enfield 1877, Inspectors mark, Roman numeral II.

All the major components are stamped with a number of inspectors proof marks, WD beneath the broad arrow. The stock is stamped with a faded Enfield Arsenal mark.

The lever action works as intended by the manufacturer. The extractor is present. The rifling is excellent.

* Condition *

The woodwork is in good condition given its age, free of cracks and splits but age related dents as expected for a rifle of this age.

The metalwork is nice and clean with evidence of blueing.
