~ WW2 SVH Staatkundig German U-Boat School Globe c1940 ~
A decent globe on stand made by the Dutch manufacturer ‘SVH’ for a U-boat traing school situated in Kiel, Germany dated 1940.
The globe is made of card/paper mache and is on a black bakelite stand.
The stand is named and dated ‘Unterseebootsschule (translation: U-boat School), Kiel – 1940’.
The globe is named ‘SVH, Globe, Staatkundig’. Staatkundig being Dutch for ‘Civic Knowledge’.
~ Dimensions ~
The globe has an approximate diameter of 33cm (13 inches) and measures 51cm (20 inches) in height upon stand.
It weighs 1.54Kg.
~ Condition ~
The metal part of the stand has a little rust and there is a large chip to the Bakelite base.
The globe has a few little scratches and some discolouration in parts but is in a generally very nice condition.
