An iconic firearm, the Thompson was very popular with the American troops during the war.
Our example here is one of later models af a 1928 A1 that can take both a drum magazine or stick magazines but is missing the radiator fins from the barrel. Our example comes with the 20 round magazine, it has a Cutts compensator and its charging handle was on the top of the receiver.
The barrel and the rear sight are the simplified military versions.
One side is stamped with the pattent nmumbers and with the Auto-Ordinance name whlist the other is marked with the model and serial no S-508732, the type and calibre of the gun.
The magazine bears the Auto-Ordinance marks as well.
~ Condition ~
The piece is in very nice condition. It does'nt cock or dry fire but the receiver and the trigger move, the magazine can be ejected and the stock can be removed.
