~ William L. Wyllie Signed Etching – WW1 Battleship With Corvettes ~
A lovely quality signed etching by the noted maritime artist William Lionel Wyllie (1851–1931).
The etching shows a battleship firing, with smoke billowing and corvettes alongside.
The piece is signed in pencil by the artist to the bottom left hand corner just below the image.
The piece has been mounted and is presented in a glazed frame.

The etching measures 27.5cm (10 ¾ inches) by 19.5cm (7 ¾ inches).
The frame measures 46cm (18 inches) by 39.5cm (15 ½ inches).

William Lionel Wyllie (5 July 1851 – 6 April 1931) was a prolific English painter of maritime themes. He has been described as ‘The most distinguished marine artist of his day’.
His work is in the Tate, the Royal Academy, the Imperial War Museum, the National Maritime Museum and many other institutions around the world.
