A lovely quality signed etching by the noted maritime artist William Lionel Wyllie (1851–1931).

The etching depicts various boats in a dockyard scene with rolling hills behind.

The piece is signed in pencil by the artist to the bottom left hand corner just below the image.

The piece has been mounted and is presented in a glazed frame.

The etching measures 38cm (15 inches) by 16cm (6 ¼ inches).

The frame measures 56cm (22 inches) by 36cm (14 ½ inches).

It weighs 1.5 Kg.

The piece is in a great condition with no damage. The mount and frame are in sound condition.

William Lionel Wyllie (5 July 1851 – 6 April 1931) was a prolific English painter of maritime themes. He has been described as ‘The most distinguished marine artist of his day’.

His work is in the Tate, the Royal Academy, the Imperial War Museum, the National Maritime Museum and many other institutions around the world.
