~ Set OF 5 NatWest Wade Bank Pigs With Stoppers ~
NatWest pigs are iconic ceramic money boxes first introduced by National Westminster Bank in 1983 as a promotional incentive to encourage children to save. Manufactured by Wade Ceramics, the famous piggy family included Woody (Baby), Annabel (Sister), Maxwell (Brother), Lady Hilary (Mother), and Sir Nathaniel Westminster (Father).
When a child opened an account with a minimum deposit (usually around £3), they received the baby pig, Woody. As the account balance increased, the child was rewarded with the rest of the family members: Woody (Baby): First account opener, Annabel (Sister): £25 savings reward, Maxwell (Brother): £50 savings reward, Lady Hilary (Mother): £75 savings reward, Sir Nathaniel Westminster (Father): £100 savings reward.
