~ Moorcroft Clematis Pattern Pottery Vase ~
The vase has been decorated with a number of beautifully coloured clematis flowers, decorated in a stunning shade of deep red & yellow against a green background.
The vase is raised by a circular foot.
The underside is stamped with "Moorcroft" and "Made In England" with the Moorcroft signature, all in a blue/green.
Over the signature is a paper label reading "By Appointment To The Late Queen Mary" which was in use between 1953 and 1978. We would date this piece to the earlier part of this date range.
~ Dimensions ~
The vase has a diameter of 4 inches (10.2 cm) and a height of 7 inches (17.8 cm). It weighs 705 g.
~ Condition ~
The vase is in excellent condition. On the foot of the vase is a tiny area that was not glazed with the body colour, this is under the gloss firing finish. There is minor crazing to the glaze most noticeable to the underside.
