A framed lithographic print circa 1806 titled ‘Battle of Trafalgar and Death of Lord Viscount Nelson’.

The image, as the title suggests is of a scene on board HMS Victory during the battle of Trafalgar, wherein Lord Nelson has been wounded leaning in to his colleague Captain Hardy, whilst the battle rages on around them.

The engraving is by Edward Orme (1775-1848), after a painting by William Marshall Craig (died 1827), an English painter who exhibited at times at the Royal Academy, from 1788 until 1827.

Some small areas of the print including Nelsons epaulettes have been hand-couloured.

The print is presented in a glazed frame.

~ Dimensions ~

The image measures 35.5cm (14 inches) by 40.5 cm (16 inches).

The frame measures 49.5cm (19 ½ inches) by 60 cm (23 ½ inches).

The framed piece weighs 3.15 Kg.

~ Condition ~

The print has some damage though this has been dealt with well and is barely visible (please refer to images).

The print overall though, is in a decent condition.
