~ King George IV High Ranking Officers 1822 Pattern Infantry Sword Presented By Samuel Brunn The Cutler of the Prince of Wales ~

Being for a mounted officer, this private purchase piece, is fitted with a 1796 pattern light cavalry sabre sword blade.

The lightly etched blade is marked "Runkel Solingen" and the guard bears the George IV cypher.

The ornate steel scabbard is inscribed "S.Brunn, Sword Cutler to His Royal Highness Prince of Wales, 56 Charing Cross, London", the then Prince Of Wales (George Augustus Frederick; 12 August 1762 – 26 June 1830) who later became King George IV.

~ Condition ~

Please refer to the images, the blade has several nicks to the edge, otherwise it and the scabbard are in very good order. The grip is firm.

~ Dimensions ~

The sword is 90 cm (35.5 inches) in total length with a 77 cm (30 inches) blade.
