A framed lithographic print after an original etching by the British artist Charles Edward Holloway (1838-1897).

The print is titled ‘The Victory – At Rest (Portsmouth Harbour)’.

It depicts the HMS Victory at rest in Portsmouth harbour (just like the title says) with Old Portsmouth in the background, the Round Tower clearly visible and other smaller ships to its right.

Below is a wreath surrounded shield commemorating the Battle of Trafalgar, and a description of the work by the artist.

The print was published in 1888 by Arthur Lucas of Bond St, London.

The print is mounted and presented in a glazed wood frame.

~ Dimensions ~

The image measures 57cm (22 ½ inches) by 47cm (18 ½ inches)

The frame measures 79cm (31 inches) by 70cm (27 ½ inches).

The framed piece weighs 5 Kg.

~ Condition ~

There are a couple of minor marks to the upper part of the image but nothing which detracts from the piece overall.

The mount and frame are in good order.
