~ c1950 Alps Princess The Begging Poodle Battery Powered Dog ~
This remote control dog, made circa 1950 by Alps Shoji of Japan, has a plush style fur body with a wire leading to the tinplate battery/remote holder.
When 2 D batteries are inserted the dog will come alive & will walk, bark, yap & beg.
The toy comes housed within the original illustrated box, depicting a poodle on each side of the lid.
~ Dimensions ~
The box measures 9 inches wide by 9 inches (22.8 cm) deep, and has a height of 5 inches (12.7 cm).
The dog has a length of 10 inches (25.4 cm), a width of 4 inches (10.2 cm) and a height of 9 inches (22.9 cm).
The cable attached to the dog from the remote extends 34.5 inches (87.6 cm).
The set weighs 545 g.
~ Condition ~
Princess has some minor staining and a small tear on the ear but remains in an overall good condition and in good working order.
The box is fairly torn with a number of creases/warping, some ripping damage and wear to the sides.
