*Czech, c.1952, VZ52 Folding Bayonet, Complete*

Blade approximately 27.8cm, overall (extended) 42.5cm

Marked 4 on the ricasso, R and an indistinct mark in a circle by the press stud.

The first rifle produced by Czechoslovakia after WW2 was the 7.62 mm. VZ. 52 self-loading rifle (7,62 mm Samonabíjecí puška vzor 52). The 7.62 calibre rifle had a knife bayonet that folded back to the right side and stows in a depression in the rifle's forestock. This scarce Czech bayonet was only in use for a short period between 1952 and 1957.

The 278mm double-edged blade has a flattened medial ridge and terminates in a spear point.

*Condition*
The blade is in good condition and retains its original blued finish, there is some rusting to the rear side. The blade's hinged folding mechanism is in perfect working order and bears several Czech inspection stamps. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
