~ Circa 1900 Chinese Short Jian Sword ~

The Jian is a Chinese double edged, straight short sword and has been in existence for over 2,500 years.

This set is comprised of a Jian sword fitted within its scabbard.

The sword has brass etched mounts and pommel with a ridged ebony grip.

The scabbard is of lacquered bamboo with similar brass mounts.

~ Condition ~

The set is in very good, tidy order. The scabbard has some areas of wear on the bamboo and its ferrel has a split to one side.

~ Dimensions ~

The sword is 66 cm (26 inches) in length with a 52 cm (20.5 inches) blade.
