Here we have a most interesting piece, a combination weapon made from separate components from across the Atlantic.

The base of this combination weapon from the proof marks is a single shot threaded barrel percussion pistol, the kind commonly found being purchased for personal protection.

Under the barrel however there has been an addition. A large blade has been welded to the pistol creating a very unique combination weapon.

The blade is marked ‘C.S ARMOURY’ and there is a faded mark above it. This is the armoury marking of the Confederate State Armoury in Richmond Virginia between the years of 1861 and 1865 making this a very unique and strange firearm.

The pistol plates have etched vines on either side.

~ Dimensions ~

The pistol is 11 inches (28 cm) long.

The barrel is 2.75 inches 7 cm long.

The blade is 5.75 inches (14.5 cm) long.

The pistol weighs 345 g.

~ Condition ~

The pistol is in excellent condition for its age, the steel has blackened but the pistol does not seem to have suffered from rust or damage. There is a crack to the left side of the wooden handle.
