~ British Fleet Air Arm Hellcat Mk.I Model 1:48 Scale ~

The British Fleet Air Arm Hellcat Mk.I, often referred to as the Grumman Hellcat Mk.I, was a carrier-based fighter aircraft used by the Royal Navy during World War II.

The design and performance characteristics garnered the interest of the British Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm (FAA). In 1942, the United States agreed to supply the Hellcat to the Royal Navy under the Lend-Lease program.
The Hellcat Mk.I was powered by a Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp radial engine, which produced approximately 2,000 horsepower. This powerful engine allowed for excellent performance and climb rates. It had a top speed of around 380 mph (611 km/h) and a range of approximately 1,090 miles (1,754 km).
It was typically armed with six .50 caliber (12.7 mm) Browning M2 machine guns in the wings. It could also carry bombs and rockets for ground attack missions.
The Hellcat Mk.I entered service with the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm in 1943. It was used primarily in the Pacific Theater against Japanese forces.
