This is a late 19th century folding bowie blade by Colver Bros Ltd of Sheffield. To open or close, the folding button needs to be pressed against the grip. Horn grip with six small brass studs on either side. Cross bar that folds as the blade is closed. Comes complete with hard leather sheath with stitching up the centre.
The Sheffield cutlers "Colver Brothers" was absorbed by Jonas and Colver in circa 1892 along with W.T. Beesley and Co.
