*British, 1969, Siebe Gorman Diver’s Torch, NATO Issue*
A Cold War era Siebe Gorman diver’s torch, dated 1969, with engraved maker’s name and NATO Stock Number 6230-99-520-1611. Constructed in machined aluminium alloy with multiple knurled grip bands for use with gloved hands, screw-threaded lens cover with heavy glass front, rubber O-ring seal, and lanyard ring to the base. Fitted with the original side lever switch. Measures approx: 28cm x 8.5cm.
Historical Note: Siebe Gorman, the pioneering British manufacturer of diving and breathing equipment since the 1830s, supplied the Royal Navy and NATO forces throughout the 20th century. Their torches were renowned for rugged waterproof construction, and this model became standard issue for Royal Navy divers during the 1960s and 70s.
*Condition* Good original condition with age wear and some surface oxidation to the alloy. Lens and reflector intact, switch functional, and threads clean. Untested with batteries but appears complete. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
