The Pattern 1860 Yataghan sword bayonet was made for the Enfield short rifled musket. The Yataghan was standard issue to NCO’s and rifle regiments.
577mm blade single-edged yataghan blade has a flat spine and a deep fuller on each side. 715mm overall. Steel crosspiece with cocks comb finial, leather grip scales and beaked pommel with 499 engraved on side and 038 on the top of the pommel.
*Condition*
This sword bayonet is in good condition and retains some of its original blueing. It shows signs of its age and usage but the blade is fairly clean. The grip is still strong with some minor wear but the button does not work. Please see pictures for more detail as they form part of our condition report.
