~ Antique Shop Meccano Display Model Of A WW1 Type British Tank ~

A well constructed model of an imaginary WW1 British tank with side sponsons, chain tracks and trench crossing rear wheels. The upper fixed turret is a fanciful addition by the builder, probably added as images of the first British tanks were then shrouded in state secrecy!

The model is supported on two pintels and a rectangular wooden base with the words 'Meccano'.

It dates to around 1925, quite possibly earlier as the trailing wheels were soon discarded.

~ Condition ~

The tank is in good vintage order.

~ Dimensions ~

The tank is 53 cm (21 inches) long, 32 cm (12.5 inches) wide and 18.5 cm (7.25 inches) tall. With its base it is 23 cm (9.25 inches) tall.
