The blunderbuss is a firearm with a short, large calibre barrel which is flared at the muzzle and used with shot and other projectiles. It was effective only at short range, lacking accuracy at long distances. The blunderbuss was typically issued to troops such as cavalry, who needed a lightweight, easily handled firearm. This gun features multiple proof marks and its original dual purpose ram/cleaning rod.

*Condition*

This blunderbuss is excellent condition. It seems to have been refinished and has some replacement parts. Please see pictures for more detail as they form part of our condition report.
