The text on the blade reads Colts 62316, Hartford Conn. USA and Made In W. Germany.

These were used with the American M16 rifle.

The scabbard is stamped U.S M8A1 and Made In W. Germany.

The bayonet is 29 cm (11.5 inches) in total length with a 16 cm (6.25 inches) blade.
