A 1870 dated Victorian British bandsman's sword with its original scabbard.

The sword has a double edge steel blade.

The ornate brass cruciform hilt cast bears a VR cypher at the centre.

~ Dimensions ~

The blade has a length of 19 inches (48.25 cm), the sword has an overall length of 24.25 inches (61.8 cm), 25 inches (63.5 cm) when sheathed.

It weighs 1.08 Kg.

~ Condition ~

The leather on the scabbard has started to dry and crack. The blade is rusted with some pitting wear towards the tip, with some nips along the edge. The brass has some minor wear but remains in good condition.
