~ 1845/1892 Pattern Infantry Officers Sword By Wilkinson ~

The piece is marked Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London on the ricasso. The serial number is 29551 which dates it to 1890. The blade also bears the initials E.B.C.

Many infantry officers refitted their 1845 pattern blades to a 1895 pattern hilt, this is such an example.

It comes with its leather field scabbard.

~ Dimensions ~

The sword has an overall length of 97cm (38 inches) with a 98cm (38 inch) blade.

The set weighs 0.75Kg.

~ Condition ~

The sword is in good, worn order. The blade has some blackening with age, the edge is free from nicks. The scabbard is quite worn with partial unstitching to the frog.
