~ 1796/7 John Turner Archery Scene Salt Glazed Stoneware Silver Rimmed Jug ~

The archer embossed pattern is one of the rarer ones and depicts a gentleman and two lady archers firing at a target.

It was probably originally fitted with a hinged silver lid.

The silver rim bears the assay mark but no date letter or city mark. However, it does bear the maker's IT' for John Tatum I, who registered in London as a silversmith in October 1790.

A complete example is in the Victoria and Albert Museum - that's how good it is!

~ Condition ~

Please refer to the images for the condition. It is free from chips and cracks.

~ Dimensions ~

The jug is 17cm (6.75 inches) tall.
