~ 1788 Pattern Heavy Cavalry Troopers Sword ~

The sword has the regulation 3 bar iron hilt. The blade has a straight flat back, one narrow fuller to each side and a spear point tip.

The 1788 Pattern Cavalry Officers’ and Troopers’ Swords (in both the heavy and light patterns) were the first officially regulated British cavalry swords.

~ Condition ~

Please refer to the images for the condition. The blades edges has minor wear but no serious nicks. The grip is worn with loss. There is a little play in the grip.

~ Dimensions ~

The sword is 88 cm (21 inches) in total length with a 72 cm (34.5 inches) blade.
