WWII German M43 Afrika Korps Tropical Field Cap

A nice example of a Second World War German M43 Afrika Korps tropical field cap (or Tropeneinheitsfeldmütze M43)

The cap is of an olive green/khaki colour canvas-like material.

To the front are two cloth badges; The tri-color cockade upon a diamond shaped base badge and above that the eagle with swastika badge.

The hat has a double set of grommets on each side for ventilation and and has an interior of light weight red cotton.

The interior has an ink stamp, but this is quite worn and only the number ‘42’ can be clearly seen.

~ Dimensions ~

The cap measures from back to tip of peak 28cm (11 inches).

The cap has an inner circumference of approximately 57cm (22 ½ inches).

It weighs 80g.

~ Condition ~

The internal cardboard stiffener of the peak is bent and worn.

The hat itself is intact with no damages but has been well worn with a reasonable amount of staining and dirtiness.
