This is an American ammunition box from WW2 that would have contained belted or linked .30 Cal rounds for weapons such as the M1919 Browning Machine Gun. From the embossed writing, “CAL .30 M1” we can tell that this particular ammunition box is an earlier example as they were changed to "CAL .30 M1A1" / "M.M.G. BOX" later.

*Condition*

This ammunition box is in good condition for its age and usage. The clips and handle are strong and functional. There are some areas of rust where the paint has worn off. Please see pictures for more detail.
