WW2 Torpedo Technical Development Depth & Roll Recording Instrument

Navy Torpedo Depth & Roll Recorder, Type H.C.4, Mark 3, dated 1941 It was fitted into a practice warhead that contained no explosives, the depth and roll recorder measured torpedo performance during testing and training. It recorded the depth at which a torpedo travelled after launching, and whether the torpedo rolled from side to side. If the torpedo ran too deep, or if it rolled from one side to another, it would be less likely to hit its target, or could miss it altogether. A fascinating piece of Naval curio and a great display item.

*Condition*

In well used condition, and not working by the looks of it. The Brass case looks to be in undamaged condition, and the workings have rust pitting to some parts. Please look at the pictures as these are part of our condition report.
