~ WW2 Royal Navy Single Draw Chromed Brass And Leather Telescope By W Ottway ~

The telescope has a chomed, presumably brass, body with a stitched brown leather cover. It is fitted with a sliding sun shade and a sliding cover to the eyepiece as well.

One side of the draw tube is stamped for the manufacturers 'W. Ottway & Co Ltd Ealing London' with a serial number of 'No 1026'.

The other side gives the original owners name 'M. Symes Thompson R.N.' for the British Royal Navy. Midshipman Symes Thompson is recorded in the 1940 Navy List.

~ Condition ~

Please refer to the images for the condition.  There is general service wear including some dings to the draw tube. The tube and sun shade deploy as they should. It focusses well and has decent optics.

~ Dimensions ~

The telescope is 45 cm (18 inches) long when fully compacted and 64 cm (25 inches) long when fully extended with the sun shade deployed.
