~ WW2 German 12x60 Carl Zeiss Binoculars With Tripod Stand ~
The 12x60 was an observational and survey 'telescope' used by German anti-aircraft batteries the Kriegsmarine and other areas of German military for spotting aircraft.
They would often have been mounted on a 4m rangefinder, but in this case the binoculars have been fitted with a cradle and gimbal and mounted on an adjustable metal tripod.
They have fold-away rubber eye rests which can be moved sideways or upwards and have a hinged rain shield.
The binoculars are in good working order with fully adjustable eyepieces and two additional filters.
The binoculars feature a panel with the markings ‘blc 12x60 5o Nr’.
The mark ‘blc’ was the war time code of the well known optics manufacturer ‘Carl Zeiss’.
The 12x60 indicates they have 12 times magnification with 60mm diameter objective lenses.
The binoculars are marked to the underside with a serial no. of ‘266075’
The binoculars and tripod have been professionally polished to a high standard and come with a set of aluminium floor protectors.

The binoculars have a length of 43cm (17 inches) and measure 44.5cm (17 ½ inches) across the handles.

The tripod has a minimum standing height of 104cm (41 inches) though as they are adjustable they can be raised.
