~ WW1 German G98 First Pattern Mauser Bayonet Dated 1905 with Steel Scabbard ~

The bayonet is complete with its original steel scabbard.

The blade is stamped with the manufacturer`s name `V.C.SCHILLING` and `SUHL`.

This fine example is regimentally marked on the cross guard: 180 K 5 156.

The edge of the ricasso is stamped with the manufacturing year ‘13’ beneath the crown and a proof mark.

The scabbard is made of silver painted steel.

This is a rare, highly collectable piece.

~ Dimensions ~

The blade length is 20 ½  inches (52 cm) and the overall length of the bayonet is 25 ½ inches (65 cm).

The bayonet in its scabbard length is 27 inches (69 cm).

It weighs 750 grams.

~ Condition ~

The blade is in fair condition with some surface  marks and light scratches.

The scabbard has some colour loss and surface rust.

The woodwork shows signs of ageing but overall the item has aged well.

~ Postage ~

Postage costs £18 or the bayonet can be collected from our shop in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.
