WW1 German Artillery Officers Sabre

This Imperial sword was brought in Warsaw.

The sword’s leaves decorated fittings are made of gilded steel and the grip is made of a wired black plastic.

The pommel is shaped as a lion head with 'ruby' red glass eyes.

On the guard’s extension are embossed two crossed cannons, the sign for artillery.

The fullered slightly curved blade is unmarked.

The sword comes with its black painted metal scabbard fitted with one suspension ring.

~ Dimensions ~

The blade length is 32.8 inches (83 cm) and the overall length of the sword is 39 inches (96.5 cm).

The sword in its scabbard length is 39.8 inches (101 cm).

It weighs 1 Kg.

~ Condition ~

The blade is in excellent condition with the normal signs of darkening.

The fittings have lost their gilt and became rusty.

The scabbard’s paint is worn, as seen in the pictures.
