A beautiful water colour finished print of a painting, entitled “Sir David Scott” by William J.Huggins.

The picture depicts a British clipper ship making landfall in the Far East. The painting was drawn by William J. Huggins (1781-1845), an English marine painter. Early on he worked for the East India Company as a sailor and learned to draw and paint during voyages to the far east. In 1817 he exhibited a picture in the Royal Academy and later became "Marine Painter" to George IV and William IV.

The painting/print has been housed within a white frame.

The painting is in excellent condition.
The frame has a fair amount of the paint chipped, with scratches and other general wear but the wear adds to the aesthetics of the picture.
