William Lionel Wyllie (1851-1931) was the pre-eminent Victorian maritime artist, well known for his etchings. This is a pre-preliminary sketch of a battleship being constructed on the stocks.
The drawing is presented in a wooden frame, it is single mounted (which is lined) and glazed.

The frame is in good order. The image is nice and clear, the paper is lightly oxidised.
