~ Victorian Leicestershire Regiment NCOs Spiked Pit Helmet ~
This navy blue cloth helmet comes with its original brass regimental badge and spike.
To the front is a brass Queen's Crown helmet plate with a red velvet central background.
The badge bears the battle honour ‘Hindustan’.
The interior still retains a good quality cream leather sweatband and the green canvas lining.
The sweatband is named ’Cpl. Bowden, 41 Kettlewell’.
~ Dimensions ~
The helmet has a width of 11 ½ inches (29 cm), a depth of 8 ½ inches (21.5 cm) and a height of 11 ½ inches (29 cm).
It weighs 395 grams.
~ Condition ~
The helmet is in an overall good condition. It has retained a good shape and is free from moth holes.
Both chin strap roses are missing as in the chin strap.
