The blade is decorated with etched with scrolling arabesques on both sides.
The ricasso on one side is marked with the proof star and `crown over anchor` and the other side is marked `by warrant` and with the crest `dieu et mon droit` meaning “God and my right”. The motto is said to have first been used by Richard I (1157–1199) as a battle cry and presumed to be a reference to his French ancestry. It was adopted as the royal motto of England by King Henry V (1386–1422).
The solid gilded hilt is decorated with fouled anchor and King’s Crown.
The grip is made of wire-bound shagreen with a lion-shaped pommel.
It comes with its black leather scabbard with brass fittings and two suspension rings.

The overall length of the blade 31.29 inches (79.5 cm) long and the overall length of the sword and scabbard is 38 ½ inches (98cm).
~ Condition ~
The sword is in good condition for its age with some dark spots.
The basket and all the brass fittings on the sword are fine with the normal signs of age and use.
The scabbard is quite worn and it requires some pressure to fully shut.
The edge is quite blunt but overall the item presents well.
