*US, c.1940s–1950s, Triple K San Diego Left-Hand Western Revolver Holster & Belt, Tooled Leather*
A high-quality American left-hand revolver holster with matching cartridge belt, manufactured by Triple K of San Diego, California, a well-regarded maker of Western and law-enforcement leather equipment. The holster is heavily hand-tooled with flowing Western floral and scrollwork motifs, with a deep moulded profile designed to securely retain a large-frame revolver. Retention is provided by a leather hammer strap secured with a domed metal stud.
The matching cartridge belt is likewise fully tooled, with continuous decorative tooling along its length and a substantial nickel-finished metal buckle, stamped with a distinctive anchor motif. The belt fastens via a traditional tongue buckle arrangement and is finished with double keepers. The holster is laced at the toe and attached via a wide loop, allowing the holster to sit low and comfortably on the hip in classic Western style.
Both elements retain a rich dark finish, showing careful craftsmanship and excellent overall preservation. - Holster stamped:TRIPLE K / SAN DIEGO / 40 / 7–12 (Style 4o holster) - Belt stamped:TRIPLE K / SAN DIEGO / 41 / 38 (Style 41 belt) - Buckle: Anchor-marked (nickel-finished metal)
The numeric markings are consistent with Triple K’s internal model and sizing codes, with the belt marked for approximately 38-inch waist size. The holster marking indicates a left-hand configuration intended for medium-to-large frame revolvers.
Historical Note: Triple K Manufacturing Company was founded in San Diego, California, in the early 20th century and became particularly well known from the 1930s through the post-war period for producing robust, high-quality leather holsters and belts for Western sportsmen, law-enforcement officers, and competitive shooters. Their products were widely retailed across the United States and are still highly regarded today for their durability and traditional styling. The deeply tooled floral patterns, moulded revolver profile, and substantial belt construction seen here are typical of mid-20th-century American Western holster rigs, a style closely associated with both working lawmen and the popular cowboy culture of the era.
*Condition* The holster and belt are in excellent, well-preserved condition. The leather remains supple with no cracking or structural weakness. Tooling is crisp and well defined throughout. Light, honest handling wear is present, consistent with age, but there are no repairs, losses, or significant damage noted. The buckle shows minor age toning but retains a clean finish. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
A particularly attractive and complete left-hand Triple K revolver holster and belt set, combining quality American manufacture, strong visual appeal, and excellent condition. A desirable piece for collectors of Western leather, vintage firearms accessories, or American shooting and frontier-style equipment.
