The books are illustrated with a total of four portrait engravings each and two double-page hand-coloured maps of North America by Tallis.

The red cloth boards have heavily embellished gold gilt detailing to the cover & spine.

It contains 360 pages

They were published by The London Printing & Publishing Company around 1851.

The books are 11.5 inches (29.2 cm) high, with a width of 8 inches (20.3 cm) & a depth of 0.5 inch (1.3 cm). The set weighs 1.3 kg.

~ Condition ~

The bound covers are rather worn especial on the first volume, the corners showing tear & damage. There is some foxing and oxidization to the pages.
