*Sporterized Sepoy Three band Percussion Musket. Deactivated*
This is a Sporterized Sepoy three-band percussion musket which has been modified from its original military configuration to be more suitable for hunting or target shooting. The Sepoy musket is a type of muzzle-loading firearm that was used by Indian soldiers during the 19th century.
The lock is marked with a crown. The barrel is marked 125 and BK(PNU) V/72/74. "PNU" suggests that the musket was manufactured at the Peshawar Numismatic Museum, which was known to have produced firearms for the Pakistani military. "V" likely refers to the year of manufacture or inspection, and "72/74" makes it likely that the musket was produced or inspected between 1872 and 1874. There are no other markings. This is a very decorative piece with a brass butt plate and brass decorative details around the trigger, see photographs for more detail..
The overall length of the piece is 55.1in.
