*Soviet, WW2 Dated-1943, Tula Arsenal Mosin-Nagant M91/30 Bolt-Action Rifle with sling, Serial No AH238, Deactivated*
A good original Second World War 1943-dated Tula Arsenal Mosin-Nagant M91/30 bolt-action rifle, complete with sling and UK proof-house deactivation certificate, retaining clear wartime markings and matching serial numbers (except bolt).
The rifle is chambered for 7.62×54R and fitted with the standard long barrel, hooded front sight, tangent rear sight, and full-length hardwood stock with steel butt plate. The receiver is marked with the Tula star arsenal mark over 1943, with serial number AH238, repeated on multiple components including the butt plate and magazine floor plate. The bolt body is numbered differently, a common occurrence on wartime-service rifles.
The rifle retains its original military configuration with cleaning rod, sling slots with leather tabs, and period-type web sling. Finish shows typical wartime machining marks and honest service wear consistent with Soviet production during the height of the war.
Approx. Measurements – Barrel length: 73 cm. Overall length: 123.4 cm.
History Note:
The Mosin-Nagant M91/30 was the standard infantry rifle of the Soviet Red Army throughout the Second World War. Produced in vast numbers at the Tula and Izhevsk arsenals, the rifle was designed for strength, simplicity, and reliability in extreme conditions.
By 1943, Soviet arms production was at peak wartime output, and rifles from this period often show rougher machining but remain extremely durable. Tula-produced rifles are generally encountered less frequently than Izhevsk examples in wartime production, making dated and clearly marked examples desirable to collectors.
The presence of matching serial numbers on the main components suggests the rifle remained in service configuration for much of its life, while the replacement bolt is typical of arsenal maintenance during wartime or post-war refurbishment.
