The piece is a shortened standard Snider Enfield rifle with an attached brass blunderbuss muzzle, its was probably converted for prison guard duty.

The lockplate is engraved for Parker Field & Sons.

The top of the barrel is engraved 255 Holborn, London.

~ Condition ~

The stock is bruised. The piece half cocks and cocks on a moderate spring.

~ Dimensions ~

The blunderbuss is 93 cm (36.5 inches) in total length with a 46 cm (18 inches) barrel.
