Silver War Badge. Badge is circular with the legend 'For King and Empire - Services Rendered' surrounding the George V cyper. Engraved with number B100649 on the reverse.

They were first issued in 1916 to service personnel who had been honourably discharged due to wounds or illness between 4th August 1914-31 Dec 1919. Soldiers who had been transferred to the Class P Reserve, had served overseas and had been awarded a pension or gratuity also qualified.
